After meeting at the University of Manchester studying textiles, Lucy Todd and Sophie Clarke bonded over their love of traditional craftsmanship. Following successful careers in the rug and carpet industry, they decided to set off on their own and launch 16TEN Rugs in 2022.

We specialise in high-quality craftsmanship behind every piece, ensuring that our luxury handmade rugs bring timeless tradition to the interior design trade, and that each 16TEN rug finds its perfect home.

The Craft

At 16TEN, craftsmanship is everything. The handmade nature of each rug comes through in the unique variations in dying, weaving, and finishing. Each subtle difference adds to their beauty and character, and every rug is one-of-a-kind. The layering of traditional textile techniques past down through generations requires immense skill and passion from the weavers. Sometimes, the old ways are the best.

The Care

When you choose a piece from 16TEN, you can be reassured that every part of the journey from design to delivery has been treated with the utmost care. As licensed Goodweave importers, 16TEN Rugs exclusively works with mills in Nepal and India that adhere to ethical labour practices. This means that no child, bonded, or forced labour is used in the production of their rugs.
